Product Overview

The REXS splined expansion joint is a high performance down hole device used to accommodate tubing expansion and contraction while maintaining maximum I.D. through the completion. The REXS splined expansion joint consists of an outer barrel with a honed internal finish along with a seal mandrel which incorporates a series of working seals and debris barriers. The inner mandrel is locked in place inside the outer barrel during deployment via control screws located at the bottom of the assembly. The number of control screws is easily adjustable to accommodate particular conditions and applications. The REXS expansion joint incorporates a spline drive allowing the transmission of torque through the joint at any point in it’s stroke. When used with a hydraulic set production packer the entire completion may be ran in a single trip and if desired the well may be flanged up prior to setting the packer and activating the expansion joint. The REXS splined expansion joint is activated by shearing control screws by applying tension or compression in an amount exceeding the value of the installed control screws. Once activated the expansion joint is free to stroke accommodating tubing expansion or contraction. As standard the REXS is manufactured from materials which conform to NACE MR-0175 for H2S service applications with a differential pressure rating of 7,500 psi. The REXS is also available in alternate materials for severe environments and at differential pressure ratings up to 10,000 psi.
